Its production is a collaborative effort involving DC Studios, Troll Court Entertainment, and The Safran Company, with distribution handled by Warner Bros. Pictures. This film isn’t just a reimagining of the Superman movie franchise; it also holds the distinction of being the very first movie to emerge from the revamped DC Universe, generating considerable excitement among the dedicated fanbase.
The narrative of the film will primarily revolve around the experiences of Clark Kent, who is also famously known as Superman. The movie will delve deeply into his internal conflict as he strives to find a balance between his extraterrestrial origins and his upbringing within a human family. It will be particularly interesting to observe which facets of this legendary character James Gunn decides to emphasize in this new telling.

However, following the complex production of ‘Justice League’ (in 2017), these plans underwent a transformation, and by May 2020, a direct sequel to ‘Man of Steel’ had not progressed.
It’s August 2022 when James Gunn embarked on creating a new Superman movie. In October of the same year, he was appointed as the co-CEO of DC Studios, alongside producer Peter Safran, and together they initiated the groundwork for an entirely new DC Universe. December brought the revelation that Gunn was actively writing the screenplay for this Superman project.
June of that year marked the casting of Corenswet and Brosnahan in their respective roles. By the end of February 2024, the ‘Legacy’ part of the title was removed, around the same time that principal photography commenced in Svalbard, Norway. The primary filming location was Trilith Studios situated in Atlanta, Georgia, with additional location shooting taking place in various parts of Georgia and Ohio. The filming phase was successfully completed in July.
